Abstract

We introduce a new record of the nectarivorous bat Lionycteris spurrelli Thomas (1913), collected in Pacurita,
64 km south from the type locality of the species in Condoto, department of Chocó, Colombia. In addition, we
describe a divergent morphotype of L. spurrelli from East Berbice-Corentyne, British Guiana characterized by
an abnormality in the orientation of upper and lower dental pieces and finally comments on the significance of
the herein presented records are included.
