Abstract

Objective: Leaf fall of Aniba perulitis and its relationship with weather were studied during six years at the Otún Quimbaya Fauna and Flora Sanctuary. Methodology: We used data on vegetative phenology of 10 individuals obtained between 2007-2012 and correlations with minimum temperature, maximum tempera- ture, average temperature, solar radiation, precipitation and relative humidity obtained for the same time. Phenological information was analyzed by the presence /absence of the phenomena and the Fournier ́s index of intensity. Spearman Rank correlations were performed to establish the association between leaf fall and climatic variables. Results: These data obtained showed a low leaf fall activity during the entire period. However, peaks were positively correlated with maximum temperature two months prior and solar radiation one month prior. Conclusion: Results confirm that Aniba perutilis is an evergreen species with slight inter annual changes.
