Abstract

Objective: Evaluated the specificity of phorophyte for corticolous lichens (Guarinocito, Caldas), where two areas with different levels of intervention were identified. Methodology: 30 individuals of three spe- cies of trees were selected: Jacaranda hesperia, Pithecellobium dulce y Ochroma pyramidale. In every tree, a quadrant of 0.28 x 0.20 m to 1.30 height and coverage of lichen was established. Measurements of humidity, light, temperature, pH (bark), foliage coverage and DAP were performed. The lichens were collected for identification. To assess whether the microclimatic variables differed between areas of study, T-student and factorial ANOVA test were performed; phorophyte preference for, an NMS was performed with the dissimilarity index Sørensen. Results: 64 species of lichens were found: 25 identified to species, 24 to genus and 12 were not identified. No significant differences for the richness of lichens between study areas were found. The comparison between phorophytes for the species richness suggested that there had been differences. The NMS suggested that some tress of the same species tend to cluster in the same region of the plane. Only light intensity parameter was correlated with the dimensions of the NMS. Species richness was correlated with Light and pH. Conclusion: It was concluded that the distribution of lichens is influenced by microclimatic conditions and the degree of intervention in the area.
