Objective: To determine the distribution and ecological niche modeling Platystele sylvestrei. Methodo- logy: Field trips were conducted in the department of Meta in order to inventory the ora Orchidaceae, the information collected was analyzed to determine the taxonomic identity of P. sylvestrei, and followed proceeded to establish distribution, bioclimatic preferences and conservation. Results: It is recorded for the rst time P. sylvestrei to Colombia and subpopulations have found a column that allows pollinia be ex- tracted, so probably not self-pollinating as happens as recorded for Costa Rica and Panamá. The potential distribution concentrated ecological niches mainly in Panamá, which has been the least explored site for the species. The degree of threat to P. sylvestrei is Endangered. Conclusions: Management plans and in situ conservation of P. sylvestrei might include major mountain ranges of Costa Rica and Panamá, and the Eastern and Central Cordillera of Colombia for the preservation of the species.
